Chad arrives tomorrow, as NFF meets country’s Charge d’Affaires
Chadian authorities in Nigeria yesterday disclosed that their national team will arrive in Nigeria tomorrow direct from France, where they have been training ahead of this weekend’s 2017 African Nations Cup qualifying match against the Super Eagles in Kaduna.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) yesterday met with Chad’s Charge de Affair to deliberate on measures that would guarantee a smooth game on Saturday in Kaduna.
NFF general secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, who disclosed this in an interview with The Guardian yesterday in Abuja, noted that the meeting was fruitful, adding that the federation had assured the Chadians that they would be provided with all that is required for them to enjoy their visit to Nigeria.
Sanusi, who disclosed that the Chadians plan to storm Kaduna with a good number of their supporters, said, “the Charge de Affair of Chad came here and we had a fruitful meeting with him. We assured him that Nigeria is their home away from home.
They are our neighbours and brothers. We told them to feel free to ask us for whatever assistant they would want. We will make sure that we provide the enabling environment for them to enjoy their stay in Nigeria.
“They also pledged their cooperation to ensure that we have a good game, especially in ensuring that their supporters are law abiding.
They will arrive on Thursday through Air France because they are already in France preparing for the match.” On Nigeria’s preparation for the match, the NFF general secretary noted, “Administratively, we are very much prepared for the match.
Just like we do in all our matches, we are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that we do all that are expected of us to win that match. I do believe that the technical crew is doing their job well in Kaduna. We have facilitated the team’s arrival and they have settled down.”
