Over 300 players are taking part in this year’s Central Bank Tennis Open Championship for senior men and women drawn across the country.

The championship served-off on June 21 and ends June 30, at the Package ‘B’ Tennis Courts of the National Stadium, Abuja.

Participants include former champions, Henry Atseye and Christy Agugbom, former three-time champion Shehu Lawal, and reigning women champion, Sarah Adegoke, as well as, Nonso Madueke, Blessing Samuel and Aanu Aiyegbusi among other.

Central Bank acting Director of Corporate Communications, Isaac Okorafor, while commenting on the 10-day championship, said all logistics that would ensure the success of the championship have been put in place.

He said N700, 000 would be prize money for the winners of the both the men’s and ladies singles, in addition to a giant trophy, as runners-up would go home with N500, 000 each.

According to Okorafor, the CBN has achieved and surpassed its main objective and target by producing and discovering talents that have represented the country and are still representing both locally and internationally.
