Team Nigeria will gauge their readiness for the forthcoming Beach Soccer World Cup when they test their might against world champions, Brazil and African kings, Senegal at the 2019 Copa Lagos, which begins on November 1 at the Eko Atlantic.

Yesterday the organisers unveiled the programme for the three-day competition, which will end on November 3.

Brazil will be making their second appearance at Copa Lagos with five-time African champions, Senegal, also set to play alongside two-time African champions, Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles, with England completing the foursome.

There will also be a Club Challenge between three Nigerian clubs, including Pepsi Football Academy, Kebbi Beach Soccer Club, Gidi Sharks of Lagos and invited Ghanaian Club, Sunset Sports Keta.

Since inception in 2011, Copa Lagos has grown from being the first ever international beach soccer event in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa to being recognized as one of the most prominent sporting and entertainment events in the World.

Speaking at the press conference, Kinetic Sports acting CEO, Sola Aiyepeku said, “Kinetic Sports’ vision was clear from inception to create a unique multi-faceted product that delivers a fusion of sports with entertainment with fans in mind. They have successfully and consistently done that over the years.

“This year, we have taken further steps to broaden the Copa Lagos experience for everyone who attends by enhancing fan engagement as a further contribution to promoting a beach culture and multi-dimensional lifestyle as well as give football-playing fans and Lagosians a taste of playing in Copa Lagos.

“Copa Lagos has been privileged to have consistent sponsors like FCMB and Pepsi who have supported the brand from the beginning. This year, we are privileged to add BetKing on-board to further support our dream of improving the quality and service delivery of Copa Lagos.”
