Benue Speaker assures Lobi Stars of support to lift Federation Cup

Ahead of the Federation Cup finals, the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Terkimbi Ikyange has assured players of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi that the Assembly would ensure that all issues bordering on their welfare were immediately addressed to boost their morale.

Mr. Ikyange, who was addressing players of the team when they protested the non-payment of their salaries and bonuses to the Assembly Complex, also promised to liaise with the Ministry of Finance and Youth and Sports to settle their outstanding salaries and bonuses.

Represented by the Majority Leader, Mr. Benjanim Adanyi, who was accompanied by the Minority Leader, Alh. Audu Sule, the Speaker commended the team for qualifying for the Federation Cup finals and directed the committee chairman on Youths and Sports and the commissioner of sports to interface with players of the team to reassure them of government’s support to enable them lift the FA Cup for the state.
