The FCBESCOLA, Lagos, which is now the Barca Academy Group, has reaffirmed its commitment to the sustainable grassroots development of football in Nigeria. The academy was established three years ago to start a new football and academic revolution in Nigeria.

Blaugrana Group International, promoters of the academy, has three facilities in Lagos, including Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Corona School, Gbagada, and Children International School (CIS), Lekki.

According to the promoters of the academy, the facilities will serve budding footballers in Lagos, while there are plans to establish more facilities in other parts of the country.

Chairman of Blaugrana Group International, Mr. Leslie Oghomienor recently went to Corona School, Gbagada to intimate parents and students on the local and international competitive, skilled and training programmes and many more value adding and leadership grooming projects scheduled for the school’s 2018/2019 summer holidays.

“Therefore, unequivocally the Barca Academy is beyond education.”

He said in partnership with the parent body, FCBESCOLA has engineered a well articulated plan of action, backed up with an enviable assemblage of seasoned professionals in the management, academic and technical team, adding that the organization believe it would deliver on her promises, objectives and vision.

An old boy of the school, who passed out 40 years ago, Oghomienor told the students that “success without an impeccable attitude grown on a solid character foundation is emptiness and too many a time does not exist beyond the sunrise.

“No doubt, after thorough research, and undoubted environmental scanning, the institution would not in any way compromise the great impact of a well developed character and attitude has on the human community.”

In her contribution, Mrs. Henrietta Eguagie, Head, Corona School, Gbagada, Lagos, expressed her delight in seeing an old pupil, who has accomplished so much coming to encourage and motivate the young ones.
