Over 200 archers drawn from across the country are participating in the second phase of the 2019 Nigeria Archery Federation’s coaching and officiating workshop, which started on Monday and will end on May 4 at the Package ‘B’ of the National Stadium, Abuja.

Among the participating states are Delta, Plateau, Niger, Kogi, Benue, Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Kwara, Imo, Kano, Nasarawa, Kaduna and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Also on the list are the Defence Headquarters, the Nigeria Police, the Road Safety, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigeria Immigration Services.

The Director of Academy, EFCC, David Tukura and Mr. Olatunji Boluji are among the resource persons.

Nigeria Archery Federation President, Mohammed Abdullahi, who is also the Deputy Secretary General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), said the second phase of the workshop is aimed at equipping Nigerian archers properly for the sports as obtained globally.

“We are a country blessed with numerous talents hence we must not be lacking in any sport not even Archery.

“Although many countries in both Europe and America, and even Africa have already gone far in the sport, we are not deterred in any way, knowing that we must catch up with them and may even surpass them at the rate we are moving,” Abdullahi said.
