Indications that the over three years crisis bedeviling the Nigeria Archery Federation is over has emerged following a meeting between the new executive of the federation led by Mohammed Abdullahi and the president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Engr. Habu Gumel.

Gumel, who received Abdullahi and some members of his board in his office at the National Lottery Trust Fund headquarters in Maitama Abuja, said he was glad with the outcome of the recently held election into the board of the hitherto troubled Archery federation.

Members of the Nigeria Archery Federation had been at loggerheads since 2013, but the crisis was laid to rest by the March 9, 2016, election into the board of the federation.

The election saw the emergence of a new leadership headed by Mohammed Abdullahi as president, Mrs. Helen Osayimwen, first vice president, Ayo Phillips, second vice president, Olatunji Boluji, as secretary general, Osaretin Emuze as assistant secretary, Mrs. Florence Ogunkoya, as treasurer and Patrick lbeh, as Public Relations Officer.

Speaking on his immediate plans to resuscitate the game, Abdullahi said archery, as a sport is a technical game but not completely alien to Nigeria due to its similarities with our local hunting.
