Anambra, Ebonyi dominate National Youth games South East zonal qualifiers

With five slots apiece, Ebonyi and Anambra states dominated the South East zonal preliminaries for the sixth National Youth Games billed to hold in Ilorin, Kwara State.

With five slots apiece, Ebonyi and Anambra states dominated the South East zonal preliminaries for the sixth National Youth Games billed to hold in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The South East zonal preliminaries for the National Youth Games held in Abakiliki, Ebonyi State featured eight events, including basketball, beach volleyball, cricket, hockey, handball, rugby and football.

Anambra took the slots for beach volleyball (men and women), volleyball (men and women), cricket (men) and rugby (women).
Ebonyi State won the men and women slots for basketball, the women’s slot for cricket, the men’s slots for handball and football.

They were followed by Imo State, which qualified for hockey (men and women) and football (women) and Abia, which qualified for only handball (women) and rugby (men). The National Youth Games will hold from October 10 to 20 in Ilorin, Kwara State.
