Arsenal is understood to have been offered AC Milan winger Hakan Calhanoglu with a view to a transfer this month.

New Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed that he is looking at “options that can strengthen the team” and Calhanoglu has been mentioned as a target

The Mirror recently claimed the Gunners were interested in the 25-year-old, but now a report from Italy says he has been offered to the club.

SportMediaset report that Calhanoglu is looking for a new destination and his agent Bektas Demirtas is working to find a new team for his man.

Demirtas has apparently offered Calhanoglu’s services to Arsenal, though Arteta is yet to be convinced by the Bayer Leverkusen star.

Even though Calhanoglu has started almost every game for the Rossoneri since the arrival of head coach Stefano Pioli in October, his future is far from certain.

Turkey international though has only scored twice and grabbed one assist in 18 games and Pioli is understood be open to moving the player this month.

Calciomercato.com recently reported that his departure in January is a possibility with a €20m asking price set, while Tuttosport reported that that Roma and Manchester United were also keen on the player.

Arsenal was linked with Calhanoglu as far back as the latter days of Arsene Wenger’s reign before the Turkish international opted to join Milan.

More recently, West Ham and Leicester showed an interest in the summer, but neither followed up with a bid.
