Abrakson is new coordinator of Northern Nigeria Rugby Football Association

Richard Abrakson at the weekend emerged as the new Northern Nigeria Rugby Football Association coordinator after winning a keenly contested polls held at the association’s annual general assembly in Kaduna.

Richard Abrakson at the weekend emerged as the new Northern Nigeria Rugby Football Association coordinator after winning a keenly contested polls held at the association’s annual general assembly in Kaduna.

Abrakson defeated Umar Bawu by one vote to claim the position from the incumbent coordinator, Abdullahi Muhammed, who voluntary stepped down after his tenure.

In other elections, Abubakar Yaro was elected as the secretary unopposed, while Eusebius Yayock retained his position as the technical director following a reappointment motion moved by the representative of Plateau State, Sir Edward Fom, who is also currently the president of the NRFF.

Col. Ibrahim Biu, who is the Chairman of the Kaduna State Rugby Association, was appointed as the NNRFA Grand Patron at the event attended by 12 northern rugby clubs.

At the polls were Kaduna RFC, Zaria RFC, Sabon Gari RFC, Kaduna State Rugby Team, Abuja RFC, Richard RFC, Barewa RFC, Kano and Kano State Rugby Team. Also present were Jos RFC, Plateau State Rugby Team, Nasarawa RFC, Nassarawa State Rugby Team and Zaria RFC.
