Kings College battle Baptist Academy, as organisers unveil GTBank Masters Cup fixtures

THE draws for this year’s group stage of the GTBank Masters Cup Season Five, formerly Heritage Cup, has pitched age-long rivals, Kings College, Lagos, and Baptist Academy, Obanikoro in Group A of the competition, which also features debutants, Chrisland, Greenspring and International School, University of Lagos.

GTBank-Principal-CupTHE draws for this year’s group stage of the GTBank Masters Cup Season Five, formerly Heritage Cup, has pitched age-long rivals, Kings College, Lagos, and Baptist Academy, Obanikoro in Group A of the competition, which also features debutants, Chrisland, Greenspring and International School, University of Lagos.

The competition, which serves as a platform for the healthy sportsmanship and ultimately to discover raw football talents, will attract N750,000.00 for the winners, N500,000.00 runners up, and N350,000.00 for third placed teams in both the male and female categories.

At the end of group matches, two teams are expected to qualify for the quarterfinals in the boys’ category, while two teams will proceed tao the semifinalists in the girls’ category.

At the event preceding the draws, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, GTBank, Tolu Onipede, said: “The whole essence of this competition is for schools that have never met to meet and interact together and foster relationships. We hope that the draws would be fair to all the schools participating schools in this year’s event.”

In the boys’ category, Group A has Kings College, Ansar-Ud-Deen College, Isolo, Eko Boys High School and Baptist Academy, Obanikoro.

Last season’s runners up, St. Finbarrs College, are in Group B alongside Federal Government College, Ijaniki, Chrisland and Whitesand, Lekki.

In Group C, are Jubril Martins, Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar, Surulere, Methodist High School and Corona School.

The Group D has Western College, Dowen College, Auwaru Islam, Agege, Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba and International School, University of Lagos.
