Project fame winners receive prizes

In what seems like a perfect Christmas gift, winners in the MTN Project Fame Season 9 were on Wednesday presented with brand new cars for their achievements in reality TV show.

Held at the MTN office in Ikoyi, Lagos, the prize presentation ceremony saw the first prize winner, Okiemute Ighorodje; the first runner up, Elizabeth Emoruwa and the second runner up, Kitay Okotete receive brand new cars courtesy of the telecommunication company. Okiemute had received N5 million as prize money, in addition to the brand new Sports Utility Vehicle and a recording contract worth millions of Naira.

Okiemuta could hardly contain her excitement, as she held the keys to her car. “This car actually suits my skintone, I absolutely love it,” she said excitedly.

A graduate of Linguistics and Communications from University of Port Harcourt, 25-year old Okiemute started out as a model, before delving into singing, which has brought her fame and fortune.

A first timer on Project Fame, she made the decision to participate this season because she was certain she had built enough confidence, hence she auditioned in Port Harcourt. With a contagious smile and a bubbly spirit, it is very easy to believe the Delta born singer when she describes herself as a fun-loving individual.

The three talents had emerged winners at the closing gala of the competition organised by Ultima Studio Limited and sponsored by MTN Nigeria was held in September 24 at the Ultima studios, where seven finalists, Winner Egbo, Dapo Arogundade, Pere Davies, Kitay Okotete, Elizabeth Emoruwa and Okiemute Ighorodje, were all presented with their prize money in cheques.
