Korede Bello… Nothing Happier Than Being At Peace With God

Korede became one of Africa’s promising acts after his infamous ‘Korede Bello wink’ in the music video of Dorobucci, a chart-topping song by Mavin Records artistes.

Born on February 29, 1996, Korede Bello, who hails from Lagos state, started performing on stage at the age of seven with the stage name African Prince.

His love for music started when he was younger and listened to songs played by his parents, particularly his father, who loved the indigenous music.

He formed his first music group with a friend in primary six and also wrote his first song. While in secondary school, Korede with the support of his father, who got him his first guitar and even paid for his first studio session took his music professionally and released his first single titled Forever.

After the release of his first single which got relatively positive reviews, he was introduced to Don Jazzy, who got impressed by his talent after recording some songs together. On February 28, 2014, he got signed to Mavin Records under which he has recorded popular songs like African Princess and Godwin.

Currently working on his first studio album, Korede said he grew up listening to diverse music, but cites Asa and 2Fcae Idibia as people he draws inspiration from.

As the ‘harbinger of good tidings’, literal meaning of his name Korede, the rising star says he always take into consideration the joy and happiness of his fans when making his music. “I want music fans listening to my music to feel blessed and happy.” Like a prince that that is desired by many maidens, the number of female fans coming after him has increased since he joined the Marvin Records.

Even female celebrities are now flocking to him. While some have walked up to give him a kiss after watching him performed on the stage in one occasion. Korede believes the more alcohol free you are, the better your health and the happier you become. And having a clean lifestyle attracts less drama, exercising, planning, eating good food, and being positive always will make you happy. “I don’t think anything can make you happier than being at peace with God.”
