Wizkid’s fourth studio album, Made in Lagos, has hit 100 million streams on the Apple Music, a subscription-based music streaming service platform.

By the feat, the song, which was released last, year October 30 with feature guest appearances from British artistes, Skepta and Ella Mai; American R&B singer H.E.R, Jamaican artistes, Projexx and Damian Marley, as well as Nigerian artistes, Burna Boy, Tems, Tay Iwar and Terri comes behind Sounds From The Other Side, which has 111, 720, 574 streams as Wizkid’s most-streamed album on Apple Music.

Since the release, Wizkid has dropped two additional videos to Smile, which was a promotional single for the album. He is currently working on the visuals for Essence, which features fellow Sony act, Tems.

A check on the Apple Music as of February 10, showed Wizkid’s most-streamed albums as follows: Superstar – 18, 583, 677, Soundman Vol. 1 – 24, 342, 667, Ayo – 35, 373, 936, Made In Lagos – 100, 394, 571, Sounds From The Other Side – 111, 720, 574.

In another development, the Starboy head honcho has cancelled his Tiny Desk Concert, which he scheduled to commemorate Black History Month, as part of his fresh release of the album, Made In Lagos.

NPR in the statement on Wednesday wrote: “Due to the recently imposed Covid-related travel restrictions to/from the UK, Wizkid regrettably had to cancel his participation in the Tiny Desk Black History Month celebration. Wizkid apologizes to NPR, his fans and looks forward to performing on Tiny Desk soon.”

Wizkid was set to mark Black History Month alongside acts like Meshell Ndegeocello, Kirk Franklin, 2 Chainz, Giveon, KeiyaA, Sampa The Great, Melanie Charles, Bartees Strange, Wynton Marsalis, Rick Ross, Immanuel Wilkins, Rae Khalil and Davido.

Tiny Desk Concert is an organised live rendition of songs from an artiste’s catalogue and it is done in the NPR studios. In recent times, Grammy-nominated Burna Boy and pop queen, Tiwa Savage have graced the stage.
