Godrej Consumer Products, an emerging markets Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) leader, has rewarded its employees by sponsoring their dreams in life through its LOUD (LIVE Out Ur Dream) initiative.

The platform was created to enable employees of the organisation to actualise their dreams and aspirations.

A total of five employees of the company were rewarded recently with N500,000 grant each to support them in any venture with the aim of to fulfilling their dreams.

 
The initiative received an enthusiastic response from employees, with more than 190 entering for the coveted prize. In the end, 25 shortlists were presented to its internal jury made up of Chitwan Singh – business lead West Africa and CEO, Godrej Nigeria Limited, Titilayo Eko – human capital development consultant and Bidemi Zakariyau, founder LSF|PR.

While 10 applicants were selected for the final round, the jury eventually pruned the number to final five, who will be funded by the company.

The final winning dreams include drilling a borehole for a community; becoming an industrialist in domestic cosmetics; becoming a global fashion designer; own and run pastry and mixology restaurant and becoming a certified Microsoft Technician on Dynamics.
 
“We believe that passionate rounded individuals with diverse interests make for better Godrejites. We understand that our team members play multi-faceted roles, this is why we encourage them, not just to explore their whole selves, but also create an enabling space for them to do so,” Chitwan Singh, CEO, Godrej Nigeria said.

Established in 1897, the Godrej Group has its roots in India’s Independence and Swadeshi movement. The founder, Ardeshir Godrej, lawyer-turned-serial entrepreneur failed with a few ventures, before he struck gold with a locks business.

Today, the business enjoys the patronage of 1.1 billion consumers globally across consumer goods, real estate, appliances, agriculture and many other businesses.
