MMZY drops social distance, to release EP soon
Fast-rising singer and songwriter, MMZY, has released a new song, titled, Social Distance, for the entertainment of music-loving Nigerians and his growing global fan base.
The song, which is a collaborative effort, featuring Citiboi, Aboki-ibile and Sevn, has been enjoying rave reviews and impressive streaming numbers since its release.
Speaking on the new song and how it is being well-received in the music circle, MMZY, whose real name is Akachukwu Emmanuel Uche, revealed that he hopes to sustain the tempo and applause with the release of his brand new EP later in the year.
An indigene of Abia State, MMZY burst into the limelight in 2012 following the release of the single, ‘Amoureux,’ which went viral in Cotonou, Benin Republic, where he grew up. The University of Lagos graduate has since added two singles, ‘Something to show’ and ‘Tonight,’ which were equally well-received, to his list of songs.
The award-winning act, who many rate in the industry as a young musician to watch out for, signed a record deal with Kerae Records in 2018 and released his official debut single, titled ‘Miracle Lover’ under the label’s imprint a year later.
BeatbyBean produced the single. MMZY has since accompanied the song with a well-choreographed music video by the highly rated TG Omori.
Known for his signature bilingual fusions of both English and French languages, fans are anticipating the release of MMZY’s EP, considering the impressive reviews of his latest single.
