After take over, Kcee is paying attention to detail

Yes, from Take Over to Attention To Detail, Five Star Records lead act, Kcee seem to be making a statement with his music. The singer on Thursday dropped the much talked about album with songs such as Kwarangida, Sugar, Dem Go Hear Word, 4-40, My Boo, and Whine For Me among others.

The project comes four years after Take Over, which had popular demand hit singles, Limpopo and Pull Over featuring Wizkid. From the time till date, a lot has happened; his label, Five Star Music has not been the same as there have been episodes of infighting, squabbles and public lawsuits that led to the breakaway of the team that created the last project.

Three key men who were instrumental to success of the Take Over album project — singer and songwriter, Harrysong, producer Del’B and manager, Soso Soberekon, have left the label, and a new team is on board.

A cursory look at the album shows that Kcee’s brand these days isn’t focused on music alone, as he has declared his intentions to run for the office of the governor his home state, Anambra in the November governorship election.

The album cover shows Kcee in pensive mood, alone in a room clutching a rosary tightly, hence depicting his faith as a Christian of the Roman Catholic order. This has created a new dimension to his brand and his art, with his new album, Attention To Detail serving as a springboard.

According to Kcee, sales from the project will be used to fund his campaign. There will also be a lot of politicking dogging the new album, and influencing its reception across the country.

Kcee had before the album release in a post via his Instagram handle wrote, “I will submerge myself in the next coming months to seeking necessary counsel and support in achieving this goal. I encourage every youth and all my fans to join this movement of contributing our quota to the rescue of this great nation. We have begun and there is no stopping us.”

The album is stacked with a dose of collaborations as the Okpekete singer utilised his persona and friendships in the music industry to ‘pull over’ 10 guests acts on 10 songs in the project. The guests include Falz The Bahd Guy, 2baba, Tekno, Flavour, Olamide, Patoranking, and Phyno. Also on the guest lists collabo list is Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale and Kenyan superstars, Sauti Sol.

Multi-talented producer, Mystro leads the project as the chief producer with his production imprint on 12 tracks, inclusive of released singles Tender, Desire and Vanessa. Other producers on the project include Black Jerzey, Dr Amir, and Krizbeatz

Having spent over a decade in the music industry, Kcee is believe to have scored numerous hit records and boasts a decent following in pop music. Hence, Attention To Detail will be an extension of his successful run in the game

As part of activities to promote the project, Kcee is organizing a tour of the Eastern cities in Nigeria, and Weekend Beat gathered that Aba, Enugu, Owerri and Onitsha are the likely destinations for the tour.
