Family entertainment channel, wapTV, has announced that following its recent acquisition of broadcast rights for over 1000 hours, it would commence airing of Spanish, Yoruba and English TV programmes and movies in HD picture quality from August 1, 2018.

Managing Director of wapTV, Wole Adenuga, made this known, saying: “We take pride in our meticulous selection process which guarantees that all our viewers get only the best content.

We equally recognise the various tastes of our different audience members and work towards their satisfaction regardless of their age, ethnicity, gender, and socio-economic class.

“The wapTV programme schedule, with detailed showing times of each content, is available on www.waptvchannel.com and through this, our millions of viewers can stay informed and not miss one minute of our top-quality family entertainment,” he added.

According to Adenuga Jnr., the Spanish content comprises of two highly rated international telenovelas — El Fantasma de Elena (Elena’s Ghost) and Donde esta Elisa (Missing), both fully subtitled in English.

The Yoruba content, he stated would be aired during wapTV’s Awokogbon belt, which showcases classic and latest movies starring favourite Yoruba artistes including Odunlade Adekola, Fathia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Yomi Fash Lanso, and Ireti Osayemi among others, while the English content would air during Reel Naija belt, which shows a wide range of Nigerian English movies featuring the top stars including Patience Ozokwor (Mama Gee), Ini Edo, Nkem Owoh, and Monalisa Chinda among numerous others.

He further stated that the multiple-award-winning channel is available to viewers across Nigeria and several parts of Africa through NTA Network (Tuesdays 8:00 – 8:30pm) and DStv 262, StarTimes 116, GOtv 102, StarSat 189, PlayTV 275 TStv 223 and MyTV (Tuesdays 8:30 – 9pm); with a 24-hour online stream on TV NOW app available worldwide as well YouTube: waptvchannel.
