TV show ‘Real Talk with Eniivy’ wraps maiden season with Chef battle

Real Talk with Eniivy, a POP Central TV talk show hosted by actress and TV host, Eniola ‘Eniivy’ Omoniyi, has just concluded the first season of the show, with a total of 13 thought-provoking episodes.

The show which airs at 9:00pm every Sunday on POP Central TV (DSTV Channel 189), boasts of a dynamic array of guests; ranging from industry professionals and experts, to entertainers, political enthusiasts, media moguls, entrepreneurs, sportsmen, creatives and even students – giving insights and real experiences to topics and issues that have sparked national discussions and are deemed very important to our society.

A segment of the show which has fast become viewers’ favourite is the ‘Food For Thought’ segment, which has been positioned as a platform for rising stars in the food retail business to showcase their culinary skills with mouthwatering intercontinental and indigenous dishes, while having the guests on the show score them based on their meal preparation and presentation skills.

Since its inception, the show has helped a total of eight chefs/caterers showcase their meals to the world, in exchange for honest reviews from the host and guests on the show.

In this regard, the season finale of the show was however designed to crown the best chef/caterer of the season by inviting the top two highest rated chef/caterer for the season to go head to head for a final showdown.

The Chef battle, which saw the duo of Chef Edak Edo-Ukpong prepare an intercontinental dish she called ‘Seafood Fra Diavolo’, and a student caterer, Irene Odufuwa, of Vee’s Kitchen, prepare a meal of ‘Seafood Okra and Eba’.

The battle unexpectedly ended in a tie, leaving the host and guests on the show lost for words. However, after being asked to do a 30-second sales pitch each on self empowerment, Irene Odufuwa emerged winner of the battle and claimed the ‘Chef of the Season’ award, making Chef Edak a runner-up.

Both contestants were awarded gifts, courtesy of the host and POP Central TV.

The host, Eniivy has been able to reach into her bag of talents to create a masterpiece where she channels her charisma and upbeat characteristics into building learning and benefitting platform where knowledge and growth can be much more entertaining for all demography.
