All set for Ogun drum festival

In her preparation for Nigeria’s maiden Drum festival, which comes up between 19th to 22nd of this month, Ogun State Government has showcased her first raffle draw ticket event.

According to the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Otunba Olumiyiwa Oladipo; the raffle draw was designed to exhibit honesty and transparency in the forthcoming Festival, which cuts across the 36 states of the federation including FCT, Abuja.

Presenting prizes to the winners of the raffle draw at the Cultural Centre Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Oladipo explained that the raffle programme was organized to sensitize the public and prospective participants on activities revolving the drum festival with a view to afford many people, the privilege of winning consolidated prizes.

On transparency, the commissioner explained that the regulatory monitoring committees in charge of the raffle draw would ensure that the event is transparent and in line with the rules and regulations guiding the raffle draw event, adding that lot of prizes would be won, only at the purchase of one hundred naira raffle draw ticket.

Oladipo further disclosed that the Drum festival is aimed at contributing meaningfully to the State’s economy and improved the Internally Generated Revenue drive of the State.

He however commended the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for his magnanimity and support he has accorded the festival starting from when the logo was unveiled about a month ago.

“We need to know that the Drum Festival is not just for fun or benefit but also to showcase our cultural heritage being endowed with through drums, dance, so there is a need to display our rich cultural and traditional values”.
Some of the winners of the raffle draw tickets include, Kubura Adekoya, Lara Osindele, Owolawase Odekunle, Osajie Segun Adekunle and others
