Toyin Saraki

WITH the emergence of her husband as the Senate President and number three man in the country, Toyin Saraki has no doubt gotten her groove back. She was deserted by many of her friends towards the tail end of her husband’s second term in office as Governor of Kwara State.

A lot of the praise singers and hangers-on who milled around her thought her days of relevance had come to an end and as such, there was no need hanging around. Not even the fact that her husband went from being a governor to a senator could bring them back, as they simply seemed to have said their farewell.

Mrs. Saraki simply turned a lone ranger. When she was spotted at the last edition of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa events organized by her Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), she was a shadow of herself though radiating a little glow. With recent developments that have seen her husband Saraki becoming the third most powerful man in the country, there is no doubt that the friends who bade her farewell will be seeking to return to their old associate. However, the probability that they will be accepted back into the folds remains to be seen.
