Notable Nollywood actor Tope Tedela is one of the two Nigerian motion picture practitioners that have been invited to be part of the Talent Campus of the Berlin International Film Festival, which will take place from February 22 to 27, 2020.

The other Nigerian is UK-based director and visual artist Akinola Ogunmade-Davies. Tedela, an alumnus of the University of Lagos and Ogunmade-Davies are the only Nigerians selected among the 126 women, 123 men and six other motion picture practitioners from 86 countries around the world.

There are only 15 actors invited from all over the world, and Tedela is in the number. Berlinale Talent Campus is the annual summit and networking platform of the Berlin International Film Festival. It is the Berlin International Film Festival’s talent development programme for 250 emerging filmmakers and drama series creators from all over the world.

This year, 255 filmmakers from 86 countries have been invited to forge new bonds and discover what they have in common. The talents are chosen from the fields of directing, acting, producing, cinematography, production design, sound design, sales, and distribution as well as film criticism.

Tedela will feature in the acting talent programme and the Soldier’s Story star who won the best actor award at the 2014 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) for his portrayal of Lala in Eric Aghimien’s ‘Miles Away From Home’ says he looks forward to a rewarding experience at the talent programme and at the Berlin International Film Festival, reputed as one of the biggest film festivals in the world.
