Towards boosting service delivery, Starwood Hotels in Nigeria, has launched its first series of intensive culinary training for its seasoned chefs.

The training, which was designed for the five properties in the country -Sheraton Lagos Hotel, Sheraton Abuja Hotel, Four Points by Sheraton Lagos, Le Meridien Ogeyi Place and Le Meridien Ibom Hotel & Golf Resorts was tagged Culinary Academy.

The Area General Manager, Starwood Hotels in Nigeria- Barry Curran, told The Guardian that the training was part of the brand’s desire to provide unique culinary experience for customers and guests.

He said:  “We will continue to focus on delivering unique and eclectic culinary experiences for our esteemed customers; so much that each time they dine in any of our distinct restaurants; they get a creatively inspiring dining experience that they do not get anywhere else”.

Curran however disclosed that the first series of the Culinary Academy has taken off at the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel & Golf resort, Akwa Ibom State.

According to him, topics to be taught includes stocks and glazes, sauces, vegetables, food presentation, hors d’oeuvres, understanding meat and game, understanding fish and shellfish, Sanitation and Safety; menus, recipes, nutrition and a lot of other itinerary.

He explained further that the rest of the year will be an engaging journey in harnessing and developing the skills of the chefs as well as diversifying and improving their knowledge of cuisine from all over the world including Asia, the Middle East and the Mediterranean”.
