Waka music exponent, Queen Salawa Abeni, who suffered a serious fall on her way to City People’s award in Ikeja, Lagos has been discharged from the hospital.

According to Salawa’s oldest daughter Aminat Okikiola, the Waka Queen who was hospitalized at Triumph Hospital on Toyin Street, Ikeja was discharged on Monday, October 26. “Yes mummy is out of the hospital now and she’s a lot better. She’ll continue her recovery at home,” she said.

Weekend Beat gathered the accident that put musician, who recently featured in the remix of her hit song, Gentle Lady by her son, in the hospital occurred when the driver moved the car she was trying to come out.

She added, “Yes she was hospitalised; she had an accident on Sunday. But contrary to what I have been reading online, she is not having a surgery. It is not a minor accident, she took a nasty fall as she tried to come out of the car and somehow the driver moved the car.

“She suffered a bruised face, broken arm and shoulder. She was on her way to the City People Fashion awards in Ikeja when she slipped. We just got a phone call that she was being rushed to the hospital,” Aminat stated.
