There was much to eat and plenty to even take away at the grand but ‘quiet’ birthday shindig of one of Nigeria’s most gifted performers, Prince Jide Kosoko. Prince Kosoko or Jide Babs as he is simply called, clocked 62 on Tuesday and his friends, family members and colleagues held a surprise birthday shindig in his honour.

Congratulatory messages have continued to pour in for the cross over artiste who has placed himself on a platform that is indeed enviable. A pioneer motion picture practitioner in every sense of the word and a direct descendant of King Kosoko of Lagos State, this actor of vast credits is a role model to many practitioners who rely on him for advice and direction.

Until recently, President of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), Kosoko started out as a member of the Ojo Ladipo Theatre group but got his break when he produced his first feature film, Ojiji. Since then, he has made appreciable impact as an actor, director, producer and administrator. His acting credits include Taxi Driver, Ogun Ajaiye, Mosebolatan, Eri Okan, Deadly Affairs, Ose Sango, Asiri Nla and many others.
