Telecom service provider, Globacom, on Saturday, entered the ancient city of Benin and turned the city into an entertainment hot spot with its trademark musical tour, Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour.

The city literarily rocked with excitement as the high-octane show paraded galaxy of Nigerian stars including Megbele proponent, Omawumi; Kiss Daniel, Reekado Banks, Runtown and Phyno.  Others were Nabania star, Flavour and Olamide Adedeji also known as Badoosneh.

The show also featured Benin-based budding stars, including 2Soul, Miyake, Waziri Jnr., 3.6, Viscular, Rasman Sugarman and R & A, who showcased their embryonic but potentially great talents. They thrilled the audience with their hits before the big acts of the night came on stage.

The Best Western Hotels, Etete, Benin, venue of the show, attracted locals and fun seekers from neighbouring towns, who thronged the facility from the early evening and remained till the late hours of the night, as some of the nation’s best musical talents took them from one level of musical ecstasy to another.

Popular female disc jockey, DJ Lambo, who was on the jukebox, superbly supplied hit after hit to the delight of the fans, while Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Ebube Nwagbo, anchored the night of music and fun.

The ladies while providing the bridge between the acts and the audiences also provided lots of fun, particularly with the cute way they introduced the two celebrity guests at the show — Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G and Richard Mofe-Damijo, (RMD).

Marvin Records artiste, Reekado Banks, was the first of the star-studded acts to mount on the stage. The Oluwani singer was also steamy as he performed hit tracks like Ada, Oluwa Ni, Katapot, Gbedu and Noni.

Next was If You Ask Me singer, Omawumi, who was stunning in her trademark African ensemble. She was followed immediately by Kiss Daniel, who thrilled the audience, as he jumped animatedly across the stage, while he performed Mama, New King, Gobe and hit track, Woju.

Dancehall star, Runtown, lived to his billing as one that make things happen in the town, as he stole the hearts of the crowd with his chart buster track Mad Over You. He passed the baton to the Ada Ada crooner, Flavour Nabania, who made the night indeed a memorable one for the crowd with his stage control, energy and live band performance.

Like jolly good fellows, Phyno and Olamide closed the show with very high altitude. Phyno got the fans to sing along with him every line and was midway into the hit track, Fada Fada, when his partner in success, Olamide, spotting a golden hairstyle, mounted the stage to amid tumultuous reception.

The crowd surged forward to feel the pulse of the self-proclaimed ‘king of the streets’ as he closely entertained his Omo Hobe fans to no end.
