While Lagosians and music lover are yet to recover from the hangover of last night music fiesta, the Experience 11, which held at the usual Tafawa Balewa Square venue on Lagos Island, the peace of the Island will again be disturbed as YBNL kingpin, Olamide; Eze Nnunu, Phyno; Short black boy, M.I; Osinachi crooner, Humblesmith; Kaffy, DJs Lambo and Spinall among others will lock down the city in what has been dubbed the biggest street party in Lagos.

Unlike ‘One Lagos Fiesta’, which is conceived and driven by the state government, the street carnival, which ends tomorrow, is purely a private initiative. Though purely packaged by White Stars, ‘The Lagos Street Party’, a two-day street carnival is enabled by Lagos State Government, and will hold at the iconic Eko Atlantic on Victoria Island, with will 500,000 fun-makers converging daily at the waterfront to usher in the Yuletide with some amusement.

According to the organisers, the gig is going to be a festival experience that is designed to promote culture, tourism, art and commerce; adding that the major attractions other than live music will be dance, diverse cuisine and creative indigenous games and more.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lagos State, Steve Ayorinde said, the carnival is a gain of ‘Lagos brand campaign’, which was launched to showcase the state’s potentials for tourism, arts and entertainment globally.

He further explained the significance of the street party, saying, at least half a million fun lovers across the state are expected to attend the street carnival. “It is a mega street carnival to welcome Yuletide in an unusual way. It will also kick-start series of festivities lined up to celebrate Yuletide into New Year, It is a mega street carnival to welcome Yuletide in an unusual way. “On daily basis, at least 500,000 persons are expected each day, thus bringing the number of participants to one million. It will hold from mid-day to 12 midnight between December 3 and 4, 2016. The carnival will witness local and foreign visitors, and contrary to what some people think, he said, it will not kill other carnivals like ‘One Lagos Fiesta’ but complement them,” he added.

The Executive Director of White Stars, Akin Akinyelure explained that the street carnival is designed to provide a platform for residents to relax and enjoy themselves within two days, adding that it would indeed offer real entertainment in a beautiful environment.

He assured that the event, will indeed be a two-day of amusement and fun, stressing that there will be no limit to the artistes to a particular number. “Several artistes will perform at the two-day party. While some will perform briefly, others may perform more,” he said.
