APPARENTLY inspired by his socio-political contribution in Ogun State, the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) is set to honour popular socialite-cum-politician, Otunba Babatunde Onakoya, popularly known as Debasco.

NAOSS thought it necessary to bestow honor on Onakoya who contributed in no small measure in the re-election of Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun.

According to information made available to us, the union which is the apex indigenous association protecting the rights and welfare of all Ogun State indigenous students nationwide, and the umbrella body of over one million members throughout Nigeria, had earlier fixed the visit and award presentation to the businessman for last month but it was shifted due to the swearing-in of new administration.

It has now rescheduled the ceremony to July13 to coincides with his birthday celebration.

The union made it clear that Onakoya merits the honor in a letter forwarded to the politician in that regard. Members will thus be making a familiarization and courtesy visit to Onakoya as well as present him a an award in ‘Distinction For Leadership Excellence’.

They will also seize the opportunity to launch the official jacket of the union specially made for high profile, successful and accomplished Ogun State indigenes.
