Nigerian-UK based gospel singer, Faith Liberty takes praise to the next level

For Nigerian-UK based gospel singer, Faith Liberty it is time to take God’s praise to the next level. She is one of the gospel artistes that inspire the new generation not just through her music but also through what she has so far achieved in her life.

Like most great gospel singers, Faith started singing from the age of 10 in church. This passion was further fine tuned in her teenage years when she began recording studio sessions with other singers before her breakout and release of her debut album titled Make A Way in year 2000, while studying in Germany.

Singing has been part of her both in the church and school choir setting. “My passion for music started when I was 10 years old, and I started singing as a soloist. When I was 12, I joined the youth choir in my church. As my love for God grew, I got inspiring praise and life uplifting songs from God,” she said.

Understanding her calling as a praise singer and a channel of blessing to her generation, the Delta State native in 2016, released a praise album titled My Testimony, a reflection of the goodness of God in her life and family over the years. The album is a fusion of various genres of music.

Though an accountant and management consultant by training, her obedience in declaring the wonder works of God through her music has not undermined her professional career as she runs an accounting firm in the UK and currently studying for her PhD

“Being an accountant is a profession not a talent. Music gives me strength and it is something I enjoy doing. It has become a part of me. When we praise God, thing begin to happen.”

Describing her self as a gifted praise singer, the psychology practitioner says the content of her song is not just worship but more of praise that makes impact and touch lives positively. Hence, her song is not for monetization purpose but to change the mindset of people to acknowledge the fact that “life’s success is not dependent on the number of people you make your complaints to but how you connect to God, who is the maker of everything, giving him praise irrespective of circumstances for change to happen.”

Her latest work Do Me Well is an expression of what God has done, what he is doing, and would continue to do in the life of his children. “This new single was dropped into my spirit by God and I was led to one of the best/award winning gospel music producer, Wole Oni who produced the audio, while the award winning video director Oluyinka Davids directed the visual.

Asked how she combines running her accounting firm, music career and family, Faith said: “Work is flexible for me because I work anywhere I am. I’m blessed with a wonderful family. My husband has been very supportive and my children understand what I do. In all, I try as much as I can to prioritise.
