How well do you know some of your favourite celebrity? Perhaps you don’t, a reason you can’t miss MTV Base’s new programme, Behind The Story.

Hosted by MTV Base’s delectable VJ, Sammy Walsh; the show premiered in Nigeria for the very first time on Tuesday, March 26, 6:05pm local time, featuring pop singer, Dammy Krane, as he shares more on his controversial 2017 run-in with the US authorities.

Subsequent episodes of the show will also feature some of the biggest names in the Nigerian entertainment industry including Ycee, Seun Kuti, Adekunle Gold, Patoranking among others sit with to share the stories of their biggest career moments as well as take their fans on a never-before-seen journey back to the places where their careers started.

According to Senior Channel Manager, MTV Base, Solafunmi Oyeneye, the show brings to the screen the juiciest gist, be it controversial stories or scandals of fans’ favourite celebrity as they tell all by themselves, adding that it also highlights the grass to grace stories of the stars.

She said, “As Nigeria’s leading music and lifestyle channel, we understand the need to continually offer our audience exciting and engaging content. In a fast paced, story-filled industry where a lot is happening per time, and the urge by our audience to know their favourite celebrities better, ‘Behind The Story’ has been curated specifically to fulfill that need.”

“We are working tirelessly to ensure that every episode of ‘Behind The Story’ from when it premieres is a most memorable one. I believe that ‘Behind The Story’ will shed more light on most of the newsworthy events that have rocked Nigeria’s entertainment scene. The debut season is not only thoroughly enlightening but also filled with a number of conversation starters,” she added.

Oyeneye explained that developing the episodes alongside the featured artistes added an extra layer of authenticity and creativity to the content. “We visited a number of locations pivotal to the stories told during the show, so viewers can have an immersive experience in each of the episodes.”
