Warmth in all its forms is one of the major prerequisites of luxury. More importantly, it makes the interior of your room stand out from the exterior.

So, as the rain pours with all the cold that comes with it, a warming duvet is your best safe for as long as the downpours stay this season.

However, a duvet is not the same as a comforter, which is one piece of bedding; don’t get it mixed up. A duvet consists of a soft flat bag filled with either down, feathers, down and feathers, wool, cotton, silk, or a synthetic alternative, and protected with a removable cover similar to the feel of a pillow.

It is imperative to note that a duvet is only as good as its filling content, hence the need to opt for duvet with best natural filling materials as this bestows unparalleled comfort and sleep experience especially in the cold weather.

Duvet filled with Down
A duvet filled with down is one of the best warm-up beddings as it consists of a three-dimensional cluster made up of fluffy filaments and contains no quill. Down is the light fluffy coating clustered beneath the feathers of waterfowl that helps to protect and keep them warm through natural insulation. The natural fillings of down which is soft and comfortable will provide you with an all-night long warmth.

It is breathable, temperature regulating and sweat wicking. 100 percent cotton fillings are soft, warm, and more breathable than synthetic fill duvet.

Wool duvets tend to be chunkier than most duvets, but they also retain air better. This keeps you warm when you’re cold and removes excess heat when your body starts to warm. They are also hypoallergenic and healthier.

Wool duvet regulates body moisture and temperature. The core of each wool fibre can soak up to one-third of its weight in moisture without feeling damp. They are naturally flame-resistant, chemical free and odourless.

Duvet filled with silk
A silk-filled duvet provides superior temperature control in both warm and cool conditions. They are beautifully warm and inviting during cooler nights, and toasty but not too hot on warmer evenings. A silk filled duvets drape over you, hugging the contours of your for perfect warm up.  It is a great all-round piece of bedding as it’s perfect for both the cold and hot season.
