Lagos APC Chieftain, James Odunbaku’s Wife, Olasinmi Becomes Ondo Commissioner

Lagos popular socialite and female politician of repute, Olasinmi Akindele-Odunbaku has been appointed as commissioner in Ondo State by the state governor, Olusegun Mimiko.

Olasinmi is the beautiful wife of chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) Rev. James Odunbaku, a close associate of the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sinmi was during the week nominated by the governor and same week screened by the lawmakers for the plum job. Confirming the development, the state Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade described Mrs Akindele-Odunmbaku as a strong member of the PDP in Akoko Northeast local government area of the state who has contributed to the development of the area .

He said: “She is an active member of the PDP in her local government and she was formerly of the Labour Party (LP). We came together to the PDP . She is a very rugged politician and well loved by her people in the area and she is also a philanthropist. She deserves to be a commissioner”. Sinmi was also said to have aspired to become the candidate of the PDP in the last House of Representatives election in Akoko Northeast/Northwest Federal Constituency of the state but the party ticket was eventually given to Mr Deni Akerele.

A source in the PDP said that the governor appointed her as a commissioner as a way of compensating her, having been denied of the party’s ticket in the general election and also to enable her work vigorously for the party in her local government ahead the next year gubernatorial election.
