The Alhassan Kwalle-led Kannywood Guild of Artistes has said that it will not ban Kannywood top actress Maryam Booth whose nude video was leaked by her ex-boyfriend on social media and went viral days ago. Although Kwalle noted that the incident was enough to earn the actress a ban, he explained that unlike the incident involving another actress Maryam Iyana where the actress was banned, the Kannywood Guild decided it would not ban Maryam Booth because her own situation was a case of a deliberate attempt to blackmail her.

Kwalle assured that the industry would rally round and support Maryam in what he described as ‘her trying moment’. Kwalle had said “this is just a deliberate attempt to blackmail her just because she didn’t agree to what the blackmailer said she must do.

For instance, we gathered that the blackmailer wanted monies to take his mother to the hospital and when he asked Maryam for monies and she refused, he threatened to release the video of her, which he has been using for over three years now to blackmail her. So, the video was mischievously taken to blackmail her and it is unfortunate. But we are happy that she has decided to take legal action and we are going to stand by her until she gets justice.”

An actress of vast credit, Maryam had accused her ex-lover Deezell for being the mastermind behind the leaked video where a lady (Maryam) was shown trying to wear her underpants. Maryam had since admitted that she was the one in the video.

According to her, the video was taken by one Deezell, her ex-boyfriend who has been blackmailing her with the video. The actress has however vowed that she will pursue the matter until she gets justice.
