After what will be considered as self-imposed hiatus, Mavin Records alternative rock singer, John Ighodaro professionally in the music circuit as Johnny Drille, has come through with a new single, Something Better, his first for the year 2020, which he says is to distract Nigerians from the frenzy of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The Wait For Me singer took to his Twitter to announce the song release. “I’m sorry I kept you waiting six months but I’m glad to put this out now that we all need some uplifting and something to distract us from all the madness,” he tweeted.

The song, which was released on Thursday, is a classic, in which Drille serenades a mystery girl, professing his love while pointing out his imperfections for her to decide if she really wants to be with him.

Drille seems very honest to himself and his love interest that he has issues being committed in relationships. The record opens with a soundbite of a conversation between two women that confirm Drille is a player.

Produced by Sigag Lauren, the song’s artwork portray unorthodox singer with his lover adorned in old school fashion.
