Five years on, Slize Entertainment returns with The Interview

Five years after his first stint, entertainment guru and the brain behind Slize Entertainment, Ehimwenma Maxwell has put out his second major movie, The Interview. His first movie, Dirty Game, released in 2016 is still making waves on YouTube.

Speaking with The Guardian, Ehimwenma said The Interview was inspired and hinged on the experience of two brothers who went in search of better jobs and greener pastures, something many young Nigerians today relate with.

The movie stars notable actors and actresses including Charles Inojie, Shaggybes, Charles Okocha, Treasure Daniel, Julius Oluchi, Adim Williams, Merenma Umeh, Queenan Mma, Tony Edozie, and Ehimwenma Maxwell, among others.

Commenting on the challenges encountered during the movie production, Ehimwenma said: “As everyone knows, challenges in movie production are many and we faced a lot of them, including logistics and location issues. It was not easy to shelter production crew coming from different states, coupled with a tight budget and miscellaneous costs.

“The shooting took about two weeks across various locations in Asaba, but we all remained positive up to the final editing stage because we kept our eyes on the end goal,” he added.

On developments in the industry, the Slize chief noted that the movie industry has evolved, but stressed that all that is needed is more innovation and enabling environment to attract more creative investors.

“It has always been challenging and we want the government to support us more. Everyone should expect bigger projects from us as this is just the tip of the iceberg. “Room Service” is also rolling out across all major online platforms,” he stated.
