In line with its vision to drive increased awareness of the country’s local talents, a leading tech-based consumer finance company, Page Financials, has pledged its support for the promotion of arts and culture in Nigeria.

Speaking at the private viewing opening of the stage play entitled Aremu, a showcase of the historical legacy of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Page Financials, Mr. Segun Akintemi, emphasised the need to document historical references of our heritage as evident in the play about the lives and times of the former president.

Akintemi said, “In the seventh year of our operations, it is time to support an industry that has shown tremendous growth in the same period that we have been in operations.  We commend the commitment of the giants in the inclusive industry from film to music and fashion and to stage plays, which have suddenly come alive to the benefit of Nigerians. It is our hope that we would, as a nation, begin to document and showcase a lot more of our culture, tradition, and politics through its representation on stage.”

He commended the producer of the play, Mr. Joseph Edgar, and his crew, and assured him of their shared belief in the nurturing and development of talents within the arts, which could employ graduates or non-graduates in line with economic developmental goals with the added benefit of reducing unemployment in the long-run by empowering the arts to its full potential.

The event was hosted by Chief Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, members of his cabinet as well as distinguished Nigerians from all walks of life.
