The Management of Natives Restaurant, a hospitality firm that caters for Nigerian’s major ethnic tribes, has stressed the need to empower young entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry for them to be self-employed

This, the Managing Director, of the restaurant Ikenna Eze-Uzomaka, stated at a press briefing in Lagos, urged the government to help in the area of providing low-interest loans for entrepreneurs, saying that no business could survive on an interest rate above 20 per cent.

The proprietor whose eatery serves dishes for the three major tribes in Nigeria said he started his business 10 years ago in his living room after resigning from his job as an accountant in one the banks in the country.

Eze-Uzomaka, noted that even though he had a British passport and could easily have relocated to the United Kingdom , he chose to remain in the country because he had faith in his potential and the nation’s youths.

He urged young Nigerians who wishing to start business to be good to have passion, vision and to be good at what they were doing, adding that it was not necessary to start big but to start small and grew.

According to him, he had inherited a non-governmental organization from his late father that picked youths from the streets and rehabilitated them, saying that about 500 of the youths had been trained and currently were owners of various business in the hospitality sector.

According to him, Natives had become a one-stop shop, serving all the ethnic dishes in Nigeria environment and ambience while also catering to music lovers and people who to spend their time after office hours relaxing at the night club.
