In celebration of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, global pop culture publisher, Konbini, recently gathered fun loving youth and young at heart to an evening soiree of drinks, finger food, music and culture.

Staged at the After House Café, Victoria Island, Lagos, the fun-filled evening was also used as a medium to announce Konbini’s partnership with leading coffee brand, Nescafe. The session featured cocktail stories from Nigerian champions of digital, games development, comics and animated film, as well as art exhibition from artist such as William Chechet and Chamberlin Ukenedo.

As an icing on the cake was a live music performance from new sensation, Funbi followed by a contemporary dance presentation by Jemima, as well as acclaimed dancer Qudus Onikeku and his troupe. The event was a prelude starter for the Lagos Dance Festival, which was staged at various venues within the city of Lagos.

The event followed on a successful showcase outing by the Konbini team at the recently held Social Media Week at Landmark Village, Oniru, Lagos. Led by 26 year-old Damilola Odufuwa, Editor-In-Chief, Konbini has editorial presence in Paris, London, NY, Mexico, and recently Lagos where it has run for the past six months.

Some of the guests at the event were Managing Director of Nestle Nigeria Plc, Mauricio Alarcon, Regional Attaché for Audiovisual affairs for French Consulate in Nigeria, Pierre Cherruau; the French Consul General, Laurent Polonceau and independent consultant/wife of Etisalat CEO, Deborah Willsher.
