Eben, Godfrey, Onos, others thrills at teen star concert

Following the release of her debut album with a video, Nigeria’s Gospel Teen singer, Iseoluwa Abidemi recently treated lovers of gospel music, fans, friends and well-wishers to a live musical concert tagged Iseoluwa Live in Concert.

Held at the RCCG Jesus Embassy Parish, VGC Lekki, Lagos, the gig, which attracted guests from different walks of life, was an opportunity for the 13-year-old singer to display her talents on the big stage. Other top gospel artistes such as Diane, Mike Abdul, Tim Godfrey, Onos, Eben, Tosin Bee, Odunayo Aboderin, Wole Oni and others, also got slots to thrill the audience.

In his remarks, the show host and voice coach to the talented singer, Ben Ogbeiwi, said, “Iseoluwa is known to be shy, but she has God’s gift of singing. I asked her parents for the permission to drill her like an adult and they gave me go ahead. There were days of tears and encouragement, but this has made her stronger and better to face a larger crowd.”

While entertaining guests with their songs, the artistes congratulated the young star for her exploits at a very young age and encouraged her not to relent.

Speaking at the show, Iseoluwa Abidemi said the reason she decided to do gospel is to appreciate the wonderful works of God in her life, as she aims to use her songs to influence the world positively.

“I feel so excited as a young gospel singer because music is something I have always wanted to do, but the reason I wanted to do it is to please God. Gospel singing is all about God and his wonderful works; music is my passion, but I hope to be a lawyer in future,” she said.

On what motivates her, she said,” I want to sing just the way my mum sings in church. Also, I heard my name “Ise Oluwa” sound tune on Channels Television, which has really motivated me and has helped me to look forward to singing when I grow up.”

Iseoluwa’s mother, Mrs. Gloria Abidemi, who introduced music to her daughter at a young age, said she discovered her passion for music at age five, but waited for her to get to a particular age before she started music.

“We have set a timetable for music and education to ensure both are balanced. It has to be education first before music. Once your child is good at something, grab it and make use of it,” she said.
