Dare2Dream returns with season 3, as contestants prep for showdown in Lagos

Following the conclusion of auditions for its season 3 in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Calabar, the Dare2Dream, one of the biggest youth empowerment reality show in the Nigeria and project by Kinabuti, an ethical fashion brand, hit Lagos for the final show down.

From University of Lagos (UNILAG) to University of Port Harcourt and University of Calabar, venues for the auditions, young model-like female students came out in their numbers to showcase their poise runway skills and talents.

At the UNILAG selections, Imperial Leather and Canoe host a Style and Luxury competition. Six finalists form the audition were sent off to the extraordinary Dare2Dream boot camp at Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, while the winner become the next ‘hot trend’ on campus.

With UNILAG auditions over, the D2D team stormed the University of Port Harcourt, where the contestants were trained on how to walk the runway and dance. The contestants walked the runway in Kinabuti’s African theme wears.

The selected young model-like females are in Lagos for the final showdown schedule to hold at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island. On arrival, they were addressed by the D2D management and given the dos and don’ts, and advised to be of good behavior.

To kick-start their challenge, the ladies were taking to the FCMB office, were they discussed the essence of the challenge with the Head, Brand Management, Adeyosola Atere.

Speaking with ladies, Atere emphasized the importance of utilizing the skills. “We will help you understand the reality of what the business world is like,” Atere stated.

Renowned photographer, Kelechi Amadi Obi explained what is expected of them as a model, adding that a photographer’s motive is to create an amazing story and a model helps him tell the story.

He said, “As a photographer, I want to tell a beautiful story, so I will go for models that would help me achieve that goal. Modeling is like the cover of a product and beauty is the content of the product.”

While mentoring the ladies, Publisher, TW Magazine, Adesuwa Onyenokwe congratulated them for on getting this far in the competition and told them to be true to their passion.

“There will be challenges, but if your passion is true, you will overcome” Onyemokwe said. Model trainer, Bolajo Fawenhimi spoke on hygiene. The ladies also visited the Imperial Leather and Canoe Marketing office, where they were educated on marketing and its importance.

As the show returns to the screen with a bang, avid followers can follow the extraordinary journey in 16 episodes premiering on Africa Magic Urban (DSTV 153) Mondays to Fridays at 21:43 or Africa Magic Showcase (DSTV 151).
