Esohe, an epic movie set in ancient Benin Kingdom, is set for a European and Nigerian premiere and tour. Starring Hollywood actor, Jimmy Jean Louis (Joy & Heroes and Heroes Reborn star) and Hollywood actress, Misty Lockheart (Chronicles of Life) in lead roles, the epic movie, promoted as a Hollywood and Nollywood collaboration, features Nollywood’s Desmond Elliot, Chris Attoh, Bimbo Manuel, Ufuoma McDermott, Toyin Aimakhu, Jemaima Osunde and Monica Omorodion Swaida.

This epic movie is a cocktail of love, murder and mystery, connecting two centuries. In the movie, the reincarnation and reunion of Ifagbai, the son of Eghosa, the Oba’s warrior, and his long-lost lover, Esohe, presents a puzzle to Gary Barbar (Jimmy Jean Louis), who suffers repeated nightmare and sees apparitions of events he knows nothing about.

Hailed by a critic, who has seen the movie privately, as “an engrossing epic,” Esohe taxies off as a story of undying love, unflinching loyalty and deviously woven intrigues that is served in a cocktail of the rich Bini tradition.

Written by Bimbo Manuel and produced by Charles Uwagbai, Monica Swaida and Robert Peters, Esohe was produced under the direction of Charles Uwagbai, who is best known for directing some of Nollywood’s critically-acclaimed movies, such as Black Silhouette, Okoro the Prince, Breathless and Brother Jekwu.

Uwagbai hinted that Esohe would be touring cities in the United States and Europe, including Houston, Dallas, Boston, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Los Angeles and London and would be released in Nigeria later in the year.

The movie also features fast-rising Nollywood actors, such as Eunice Omorogie, Omoye Uzamere, Oghenekaro Itene and Osagie Elegbe.
