Today is the last day of the year and usually people take stock of the outgoing year and look forward to the New Year. For these set of screen celebrities, the season for them represents an opportunity to show and share love, spend time with loved ones, reflect on the outgoing year and of course plan and look forward to a prosperous New Year.

The holidays (Christmas and New Year) remind me to be grateful. It is a season of reflection for me. A time to thank God for all he has done and didn’t do and a time to thank God that I am still alive.

So many people started with us in January and they are no more, but this is not my story and I am not more special than they are.

It is also a time to spread love, give and spend quality time with my loved ones.

I spent Christmas at home with my family. Good food, good company and great films. It is our tradition.

For the crossover, I am going to head to church with my friend and sister, Linda Ejiofor, and praise God into the New Year, because I know I have a loaded 2017, by His grace.

I SPENT the Christmas with my family and I played host to a few friends who came around.

I later visit the cinema to catch up on the Nollywood movies I missed the premieres.

As for New Year resolutions, I don’t make them. I just go straight to work with my strategies and put God first ahead of my plans.

Next year will be good. I didn’t really do much in 2016, but bring it on 2017 with serious work I am ready to fly back to the top where I belong.

CHRISTMAS means family to me. A time when we come together and share fond memories, be thankful for the gift of life and gear up for the challenges of the coming year. It is a time to share and also remember the power of love.

I spent Christmas with family. There were loads of cooking and late night nibbles.

I never have been able to make New Year resolutions and stick to them, so I accept the things I cannot change and make an effort to be a better person, not losing my grounding and humanity.

Career plans? I never make those plans. I like surprises, so I am looking forward to a colorful year. That way, there will be no disappointment.

I CELEBRATED Christmas with my family. For me, it has always been a time to share with family members.

I never set New Year resolutions, never done it, as the New Year is a continuation of the previous.

What I do is tell myself the New Year has to be way better than the previous year and I work even harder to make it happen.

This year was indeed my best year yet, got so many accolades, awards and a lot of things turned around in my favour.

Indeed, I had several awesome moments this year. It was a roller coaster of outstanding events in my life.

First, it was the reception our first feature film, Just Not Married, received during its premiere and during its cinema run.

Then, when I got a nomination for Best Producer from the City People Entertainment Awards 2016. Just Not Married won Best Nigerian Film 2016 at Eko
International Film Festival; I won the award for Best Actress at the Abuja International Film Festival, and at BON 2016.

How can I also forget when I got a recognition award from the EY Theatre Group Benin, got the Medal of Honour at the In-Short Film Festival 2016?

But I must say that the moment I will cap the best of the best moment was when Just Not Married screened in Toronto, Canada at the Toronto International Film Festival 2016.

The standing ovation and amazing comments and reviews left me in awe of God’s grace in my life.

So, my prayer is that next year, our success stories will exceed what happened this year.

CHRISTMAS, for me, is a time to share love with friends and family and those who don’t have to put a smile on their faces.

I spent Christmas with my friends and family and I look forward to sharing great moments with them as we cross over to next year.

Yes, I have a lot of film projects in the pipeline for my production outfit. So, people should be expecting more jobs from me next year.

CHRISTMAS is a season of love and for celebrating the birth of Christ. It is all about celebration for me, showing love, while New Year is a season of setting new goals to achieve great things and, of course, celebrating with families and friends off my work mode.

My plan for next year is to achieve every goal that I set, by the grace of God.

I also plan to set new standards and policies and also re branding myself.

The season of Christmas and the New Year offer me an opportunity to catch up with loved ones.

It gives me an opportunity to mostly be a spectator at things, as opposed to participating.

It allows me a window to rest too. And it is all a good time to reflect on the previous year and prep for the new one.

I spent it eating in family’s houses and spent the rest of it at home prepping for next year. There is stuff to plan for.

My resolutions are to pick up from all I didn’t do this year.

I would work more on international markets. I will clearly be looking into other opportunities for expansion, as a person and as a brand. That will be a good way to define next year.

And my highlight for this year was probably the celebrations and appreciations from the film festival circuits. That really meant plenty.

So, next year, I shall be consolidating on the contacts and the windows of opportunity created. I want to be able to convert them to tangible successes. So, help me God.
