Burna Boy, Don Jazzy link up in new single, video Question

Grammy award winner and African Giant crooner, Burna Boy has come through with a brand new single dubbed Question and an accompanying music video.

The new hit is the superstar’s second single of the year.

Teaming up with renowned record producer and Mavin Records Chief Executive Officer, Don Jazzy, Burna Boy has again proven why he is the ‘African Giant’ as he comes through with distinctive vocals to deliver yet another vibrant record to add to his ever-growing catalogue.

The new single serves as the follow-up to the energetic, Chopstix-produced banger, Kilometre, which has been viewed over 9.4 million times on YouTube since its release by the end of April this year.

In the record, the Afro-fusion star can be heard going in over a light guitars and airy synth chords. In the music video directed by TG Omori, he can also be seen switching between young children in good spirits, whilst catching a vibe to the song and hanging with Don Baba J alongside the youth.

The record was delivered in a medley of English, Pidgin and Yoruba, as Burna Boy was heard singing: “Question but dem no get answer/Anything wey you wish, that be your portion/Na by the grace of God and insha Allah we dey move am.”

The super star, in the opening scene of the music video that was shot in Lagos, can be seen with a group of children interacting in Pidgin English in a ghetto- like hood. This is followed with some boys playfully driving their self-made trolley, while a little girl is seen bathing under running water.

The Ye singer also tried to showcase the rivalry that presently pervades the streets with secondary story line of a violent fight over who is the king of the local streets. This contrasts all the positivity.

The new single was part of the records sampled by Burna Boy at O2 Arena, as part of the London venue’s Welcome Back Shows series, as well as a string of international performances.

He is expected to perform at this year’s Strawberries and Creem festival, which is schedule to take place near Cambridge on September 26, and a headlining performance at New York City Governor’s Ball schedule to take place at the Hollywood Bowl on October 8.
