Actress and later day producer and director, Judith Audu-Foght, was the biggest winner at last year’s edition of the Inshort International Film Festival (IIFF) held between December 27 and 29 at Four Point in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Her debut short film as a director, Mirabel, won four awards at the festival, organised yearly by the Victor Okhai-led Lagos International Film and Broadcast Academy.

Judith made it to the podium four times to receive the awards for screenplay, best actor (won by the lead actor in the film, Moses Akerele) and best director.

The jury, which comprised Wilfred Okochie, Bose Oshin, Husseini Shaibu, Yemi Oladeinde, Isabella Akinseye, Eddie Adjartey and Thomas Askaley, also declared Mirabel the best film of the festival.

Other films that got recognition include A Little Mischief, which won the award for best edit; This is Lagos, named best in make up and Dear Future Wifey, which got the costume award.

An elated Judith took to her social media accounts after the award ceremony and wrote: “Looking back at 2018…it started with a high, producing Mirabel and debuting as a director, going to London Film Academy to learn more as a director, getting to direct awesome actors, working with fantastic crew, to the year ending with the same film winning best short film 2018 and earning me a best director award. That felt so fulfilling and it was the high point for me.

“Thank you to everyone that was a part of my year and everyone that gave me a job to do, opportunity and believed in me.”

The movie had earlier last year received the Best of Nollywood (BON) award for Best Short Film.
