The excitement that comes with gaining the opportunity and platform to make greatness of one’s life cannot be overestimated, as the 2019 graduating trainees of Betti-O School Of Fashion (BOSOF) could not contain their happiness during their runway graduation ceremony recently.

They took to dancing with gratitude to Betti-Okuboye Foundation of BOSOF and sponsors for the six-month exclusive training in their chosen career.

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF)- Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) Technical Skills Development Project (TSDP) sponsored the event, which took place at BOSOF open grounds, Ruff ‘N’ Tumble office in GRA, Lagos during the week with a runway show that blew the attendees away.

Founder of BOSOF, Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi, who appreciated the sponsors, said her mother who trained women throughout her lifetime inspired her.

“For me it is the continuation of the second generation of her legacy with the hope that the school becomes one of the best schools of fashion for the whole of the African continent.

“This is why I implore the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the school. Put an extra to the ordinary to become the extraordinary in your generation. You have to be equipped with substance to face the challenges of life even in your work,” she said.

While addressing the media, she said: Fashion, creativity and innovation are dynamic, and this is what we hold on to at BOSOF.

Those three are never static and we have to let the free imagination rule to keep getting better.

We also let the student’s creativity unleash, we encourage them to be the best version of themselves, to find their own authentic self, be true to their own self and be opened to continuous learning.

So creativity and innovation speaks to them and they make greatness of their profession.

We also ensure to get better year in and out in the school, we get feedback from previous students who were recipients of BOSOF but, more importantly, we ensure to keep finding people who align with the obligations of the school and are ready to be driven to perform on excellence,” she said.

Ogunlesi added that she feels very happy at the progress of the school and with the greatness attained by the students. “This is the 4th edition and it can only get better,” she said.

Mrs. Folusho Samuel, representative of ITF-NECA TSDP said, with BOSOF its get better and bigger.

“She is always looking for the next impact to make on people and the society.

TSDP project works with all organizations, but without prejudice there is no room for comparison between BOSOF and others.

BOSOF have unique values in time management, integrity, value for money, innovation, accountability, commitment and a whole lot more.

The graduating trainees have put in a lot of efforts in their work and the scheme has taken them out of the unemployment world. I, however, implore them to improve on everything they have acquired in the school,” she noted.

The first place winner of the runway show got the sum of N100, 000 with a sewing machine; second position winner went home with N50, 000 and a sewing machine while the third place winner also got a sewing machine.
