REDAN, housing finance institutions to meet

With the recent signing of the $2 billion deal by the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Nigeria (REDAN), all is now set for members of the association to fast track the provision of affordable housing for Nigerians.

With the recent signing of the $2 billion deal by the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Nigeria (REDAN), all is now set for members of the association to fast track the provision of affordable housing for Nigerians.

Real Estate Developers’ Association President, Rev. Ugochukwu Chime who spoke on the association’s first Building exhibition, themed: “Investing in Real Estate for Economic Recovery and Expansion” beginning on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, said the event will enhance understanding of the opportunities inherent within the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as it pertains to their businesses.

The MOU was between REDAN, FMBN and Shelter Afrique. “We have known the challenges for finding construction financing for developers and that is why we have worked out an MOU with Shelter Afrique and Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria to ensure seamless transactions from construction finance to off takers finance”

The REDAN Building Expo will bring together all levels of building manufacturers, investor’s innovators and entrepreneurs to showcase their made in Nigeria products and services at the exhibition, as it remains committed in collaborating with local producers for the expansion of their business against exorbitant foreign products.

Expected dignitaries at the Expo will include, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu , Minister of FCT, Mohammed Bello. The Chief host is the Minister for State Power, Works and Housing, Hon. Mustapha Baba Shehuri.

Others are Prof. Charles Inyangete, Managing Director, Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company and Mr. Richard Esin, Ag, Managing Director, FMBN and Femi Adewole the Acting managing Director Shelter Afrique.

Target audiences are estate developers, mass housing Off-takers, State Government Ministries of Land and Housing, Fund Managers, Commercial Banks and Professionals in the Construction Industry.Others are Ministries, Department and Agencies with Staff Housing Projects, Primary Mortgage Banks and host of others.
