At sea enroute Ikorodu to Victoria IslandA NIGERIAN- based group working to advance better access to water, Pan African Vision for the Environment (PAVE) has entered into collaboration with the faculty and graduate students from the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley in the USA to investigate new strategies to explore human rights to water and sanitation in the country.
   
“Using the access criteria delineated by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the human rights to water and sanitation, we seek to create and pilot a mobile phone survey application for local community members, aid organizations and officials to collect and monitor data on water and sanitation conditions in urban Lagos.
 
“In addition, we would like to carry out participatory mapping activities with community members to identify environmental barriers that impact access to safe water.”
