The Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, has revoked the contract for the construction of Madanfara-Yeldu-Kare road.

The governor, who disclosed this during an interactive session with traditional rulers in Birnin-Kebbi, expressed dismay over the inability of the contractor to complete the work as scheduled.

He explained that the revocation was with immediate effect, and directed the ministry in charge to take necessary action on the work.

The governor stressed that the contractor was incompetent and assured that the contract would be re-awarded to a competent firm to ensure completion of the project.

Reacting to complaints from the people of the area about the delay in completing the road, the governor warned that his administration would not condone delay in the execution of any project in the state, especially, roads which are indispensable to movement of people, goods and farm produce.

Senator Bagudu pledged to sustain the provision of basic amenities to all parts of the state, assuring the people of Chibike in Arewa Local council that the government would fix electricity in the town as well as construct the road linking the area.
