Imo State government raises panel on property, assets recovery
Worried by the looting and encroachment on government property and assets, Imo State authorities have inaugurated a panel on recovery of such property belonging to it, in the 27 Local Government Areas.
Inaugurating the panel on behalf of the Governor Rochas Okorocha, the Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu at Government House, Owerri, directed the members to do the needful by recovering all government property in all nooks and crannies in the state, including lands, vehicles, vehicle plate numbers among others.
He charged the chairman of the committee, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Assets and Liability, Chief Chike Orjiako, the Secretary/ Special Assistant to the governor on Administration, Mrs. Lilian Asuzu, and all the 27 Transition Committee chairmen in the Local Councils, to work hard to realize the objective, directing them to submit their report within three weeks.
Responding on behalf of the members, the chairman, Orjiako, expressed optimism that they would work according to the terms of reference given to them.
