Firm begins N5 billion Edmark city project

In what could be its most ambitious real estate development gambit to date, Edmark Group of Companies, a multidimensional and network marketing organisation has commenced a showpiece project along the Lekki corridor.

The latest project is coming after the company completed an international centre in Ikeja.

The new iconic mixed development known as Edmark City will cost N5 billion. It is innovatively positioned as a business and leisure community founded on principles that focus on family, work recreation and social.

It will be home to various businesses, education, entertainment, research and development. Essentially, the hotel structure will have over 150 hotel rooms while the commercial retail complex will accommodate about 100 retail stores.

The proposed city will include a state-of-the-art auditorium of 1,200 seating capacity, an olympic-sized ice skating rink, three state-of-the-art cinema theatres, paired with the Imax 3D theatre screens, a sky garden and medical centres as well as grocery supermarkets.

The Edmark City project is expected to house residential service apartments, comprising a combination of studio units, one-bedroom, four-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom units, complemented with recreational facilities and amenities such as a 40-meter swimming pool, basketball court, jogging paths, gyms and fitness centers, a sky garden, as well as a children play area, amongst others

Speaking at the piling and commencement of construction, Chairman/Founder, Edmark Group, Sam Low said he was quite excited over the feats his organisation had achieved in bringing the company’s vision to reality despite initial hurdles.

According to Low, “the project tagged Edmark City of Light has plans to create a positive environment for continuous growth. It is also borne out of the need for Lagos to have a wholesome total well-being and favourable living condition with effective public utilities and hygienic amenities. The development aims to designate spaces for office units, retail outlets, and hotel rooms, on top of the residential towers.”

He pointed out that the journey towards realizing the vision of Edmark City began with the groundbreaking ceremony at the 2.1-hectare property in Lekki in December, 2015.

The project will also house an event centre, multiple commercial spaces, and a six-storey building for offices and showrooms.

The event centre is set to have a 1,500 seating capacity at a time, complete with state of the art sound system and the flexibility of accommodating various types of functions.

Looking at a floor area of 4,500m2, the development will also be equipped with sufficient parking slots including a basement car park.

He also stressed that the project will be environment-friendly as it is aimed at paving the way for green energy with solar panels and wind turbines on the roof decks to lower dependency on the power grid.
